44 years of 27/81 UK legal CB 2nd November 2025. Anybody bothering with it this year?
I've not seen or heard anything about it this time round, other than a quick Google search brought up a Facebook page advertising it.

I might give it a go up on a high spot with a couple or three vintage 27/81 rigs in the car after 7 tonight. Got to show willing - maybe!

I've not left the house yet and there's already someone in Newark, Nottinghamshire shouting on 27 out there in the distance!

Re: CB Radio Anniversary 2nd November 2025
I forgot all about coming back to this thread, but I see there was little interest anyway. But to answer the question...
Yes, in a way. The problem was that channel 27 is in the part of the band that still has quite a noise floor for the home base operators, so what tended to happen was that several of the locals got chatting to each other on the channel and reckoned that it didn't matter because they'd hear anyone shouting on the side should they want to get in. Of course, because of their 'S7' (at least) noise floor, they couldn't hear anyone in the distance trying to make contact, me being out in the sticks mobile with virtually zero noise floor could hear many folk trying to call in underneath and in between them, so these locals spoiled it for everyone else. We know channel 27 has been chosen because of 27MHz and 27/81, but it would be better to use a channel right up at the top of the band, no lower than 35 and up to 40 where the noise is covered by the overlapping edge of the 10M notch filter. I probably won't bother to go out again on November 2nd...but then I always say that, so we'll see!
