Guy at the top selling a TS-120V.
Much better than the drifty old ratbox FT-7

the TS-120v is a cracking starter rig, i had one..
shame they can't do 11mtrs, but if you want it for HF is it's meant for they're great.
and £100...!!!! bargain..!!

Thanks Guys i do like the Ts120v but.....

Dunno if you remember Gaz just after i got my ticket we all went the llandudno rally and i bought one to start me off in fact i bought two rigs think i must of had the worst luck that day as both were very faulty :(

I bought a Yaesu 227 memoriser that didnt work at all  and then managed to buy a faulty ts 120v too

The 120v had turned out to been badly modified for 45 meters back in the day and everything was all over the show

I remember giving a shout out on 10 meters at Alans but couldnt hear myself on his other hf rig so we kept looking for my tx on the other eventually we found me on 40  yeh 10 meters display but 40 meters output what a mess

Billy MRH passed the 227 to a mate for me who got it going but it would only step in 1khz steps :o

I think Alan ended up with both radios

The usual Alan dead radio disposal Depot

That kind of turned me off 120v's

I like the fact the Ft7 is built like a tank and has no gas displays to go wrong which are often now unavailable

Maybe i shouldnt let that put me off a good 120v but i still want a Ft7 i really like them ;)

So does anybody have a ball park figure of what they are actually worth in real terms

The FT-7 does have a certain something about it but I really don't know what :)

To be honest I think a good one could be a fun thing to play with but I really wouldn't recommend it as a main radio. They sound good on transmit but drift a bit and the coverage is very limited - amateur bands only, and no topband or WARC bands. With conditions as they are at the moment, not having 17m and 12m could be a bit frustrating to say the least.

I had and they are bomb proof. Great little rigs, but no good on CW as they use the SSB filter. However leave the FT7 aside and go for a FT7B....these have 50 watts output and AM.

Well, you can't really judge a radio because you bought a faulty one in the past.
You could buy an FT-7 and THAT could be faulty.
You takes' your chances.

You should have bought that FT-107M when I told you !!!

I wouldn't pay more than £50 for a working FT7. A nice 80m CB for the van, but no topband and no WARCs make it a very limited set.

Thanks Guys

Ive decided to leave the FT7's now i suppose i had a romantic vision of old fashioned gear and i guess with CB the old stuff is better but with Amateur equipment it has got better over the years ;)

Im now thinking of getting an Icom ic703 not yet though itll be in the new year ;)
