I have a couple of deaf radios in need of realignment. They were programmed to 2 meters but the receivers need adjusting for the frequency. I don't have the right test equipment to tune them up and I really don't want to spend hundreds on equipment that I'll rarely use.
I need to build something simple that gives a weak signal on 145MHz so that I can tune the receiver to the loudest sound.
What would be the best way to align the receiver?

Use another radio. TX to dummy load. Move it away to get desired signal level.

friend of mine used to put a handheld on low power and a rubber band around the ptt and put it inside his fridge.
