Digital Coastguard out of the marine band
Made an interesting discovery today, when experimenting with a new radio. Most people are aware that the Coastguard do a number of safety and information broadcasts on the Marine band - they call out on ch 16 and direct listeners to a channel up in the 60's where they give local weather, information on obstructions or red/green lights out of action - that kind of thing. This information is re-linked out in the VHF business band out to sea for vessels working on the wind farms.

I’ve only heard that in use just once here, but I did get a request from a lifeboat crew member in the solent who uses his own radio for that one, but down there, they called it ch99. 160.6MHz, which would be the other duplex frequency of 156.0MHz.

165.175mhz heard in great yarmouth but its signal isn’t as strong as it would be in great yarmouth (nr alpha heard). Also many unencrypted tetra which is linked to EA3. Seems to be 20 frequencies assigned but each day or few days they change. Also noticed a few interpol tetra popped up just below our ESN and showing class 1
