Noticed this week they have turned their tx power down, used to pick up easily with a handheld scanner, now only receiving on my Airspy/Discone.

166.1375

unliky to have turned power down as users dont have access to power settings in normal use as they would most likley turn them up ...
either they developed a fault in the coax or arial or the arial has been re-sited for one reason or another........Or something has been errected between them and you scaffolding maybe or new building going up.
draw a line on a map and check it out.

I'm only a mile or so from the town centre and struggling to receive them now on handheld, wonder if it's something to do with the development of the Market Place? The "Pubwatch" transmitter which I believe is situated further away from me on the sea front came up briefly (166.8875) and sounded just as strong as normal.

Their power has been back to normal for the last few weeks, also 165.1375 using DMR is getting used more, they could be starting to transition.

Im often listening to this, Plugged my anytone 578 into PC and ran it via zello. I have noticed they are having issues with people in the town listening and following them the past 6 months. Which is likely to force them to switch to network/poc radio soon enough I do have a whatsapp group where listeners in the area post certain things happening, lifeboat launches (i send as soon as tasking page is sent out then follow up with launch). something you or others may be interest in just pop me a PM and will guide you in the right direction.
