According to my fairly accurate meter it does put out 4 watts on battery. I suppose due to the short antenna most of that gets sent upwards rather than along the ground though.

I think my signal is going so far up I need to hope it'll bounce off a satellite

As I live fairly close to an RAF base signals often go up as a plane flies over low.

On hills I used to find that center loaded telescopic antenna used to work the best

This chap explains why centre loaded antennas do a bit better than base loaded.

On the car I have tried all types of antenna and not found much difference in performance between centre, bottom and top loaded.

However Longer is almost always better, unless springers are involved because they always seem to perform worse than other antennas of their size.

Aye. I posted this on another thread - a comparative test between umpteen twigs and in general, antennas of similar length are similarly effective, whatever the coil used.

If they can make this quansheng tk11 that covers cb 2/70 and pmr what was stopping others ? I'll tell you what it's called greed. As they know they can get away with it but now the market is bneing flooded with these it's game over for anyone selling cb handhelds. Their best bet is to put a sale on or buy a new duster ready to dust down all them cb handhelds ever week for years to come. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267242382618 ... 8218279970

Look at these jokers £219 and it's not even got 27/81 band. How can they be ripping people off like this ? To top it off it's a B grade item. Who is pricing this up ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/405841137578 ... earch=true

I am not sure why anyone in the UK would want an FCC spec Randy, let alone pay more than the EU version for one.

That's steep! The Thunderpole TX is the most I'd pay for one.

The Jerry in UK spec looks reasonably priced at about £140

You pay bit extra for the President name.

What's the output on CB and how good is its spectral purity?

It's around 4 watts and i'm not sure about the harmonics. There are a few videos covering it on youtube.
