Hello, my name is Stefan and I’m from Germany, in the state of Hessen.
I’ve always been interested in CB radio, along with a few other hobbies, but like so many others, I’m “antenna-impaired” where I live. Still, I’ve managed to reach as far as Brazil using FT8 and have at least been heard in East Timor. When I really want to get on the air, I operate from my car in our moderately high hills and can reach most of the local CB radio groups.
The young people have their cell phones; we have our CB radio, and there’s something special about being able to transmit and receive using your own equipment. CB radio brings people together—I think it’s great!
