Hi all,
My name is Piet, located in Saarland, Germany – right in the heart of Europe, close to the French and Luxembourg border.
After a 20 year break from 11m I'm back on air.
Some friends call me Tony because I build, construct and program just about everything myself. If it has a processor, an antenna or an engine – I'll figure it out.
Currently running two antenna projects. My mobile field antenna is a full-wave rhombus loop – "The Beast" – good for both groundwave and DX contacts. My second project is a magnetic loop antenna for mobile DX use, featuring a 3D printed capacitor housing and remote tuning control – inspired by an Austrian design but fully rebuilt without wooden parts, running on battery with USB charging. Due to its nature the MagLoop is not suitable for short groundwave contacts but performs well for DX.
I will probably spend more time on the PTT than on the forum – but I will check in from time to time to see what's going on. I'm still exploring and will see where it takes me. If anyone has a question I might be able to answer, feel free to ask – happy to help where I can.
My social networks transmit in decibel – no Facebook, Instagram or anything like that.
Looking forward to some good DX and nice contacts!
