So with my half size G5RV having seen better days, the feed has detached on one leg.
So I have just ordered a ZS6BKW which is a more optimised version.
When it arrives and gets put up, we will see how it performs.
Im hoping it will out perform the 5RV time will tell I guess

Also now had notification that it has been dispatched so should be here in a week or so, maybe less.
I reckon I'll crimp some rings onto the counterpoise radials and pin them out with tent pegs.
I have three radios I could use, a little four band Xiegu G1M, an FT-817 or the MChf, I'm pretty excited about this one. :D
I have this antenna - I find it works very well. It is simple, but does the job. There is supposed to be an extension coil for 40m as well.

I bought a Pixie kit. Or is it a Super Pixie? Took an age to arrive from wherever it was in the UK. Built it last night and it seems to be receiving. Any tips for an antenna are welcome, appropriate for a small terraced house....

Now just got to get my code up to scratch. Been using lcwo.net and have been progressing, but slowly. Took a year out, but that applied to all radio really.

Also have built a boomerang clone. That's gone pretty well. Built a prototype, now will make it properly. Uses a tank whip, some tentpoles, some bell wire, shrink wrap and some stud mounts. Found that by changing the length of wire in the ground radial I influenced where it tuned in. A quarterwave length tuned in about 29MHz, when I fitted a 5/8th length it shifted to 26Mhz. By using something in between I managed to tune it to 28Mhz, where I wanted it. I'll post some more details about it if anyone is interested. I doubt I saved much money over a £50 boomerang but I did learn a lot about antennas. Also about making home-made Firestiks...

3 Weeks signed of work from an operation and now the boredom has set in {bnghd}

On a whim i purchased an Anytone Ares to use on 10m more for nostalgia i guess as the FTDX10 is more than capable  well that went back as the 'unable to test as i have no aerial' proved to be a faulty ext speaker socket (no audio from int speaker) , listed as 'used' not parts only, no doubt that will end up being sold again as 'un tested'

Absolutely no use for a manual tuner, still not sure why i bought it but it looks nice on the shelf

Wanted another of these, have one on an Icom 2730e in combo with a Marantz condenser mic, the new one is on the FTDX10 with a 636L

Finally got around to sorting something half decent for 10m/11m/12m for what i use it for the height is perfectly adequate and the neighbours (and wife) didn't throw a fit as it replaced a Sigma SE HF-360 that was on that poll ..... just told the wife it was the same size, some women will believe anything :lolno:

and finally a President McKinley for 11m couldn't find a SH EU model so had to get the export and un-mod it , another 2 weeks off work, not sure the bank account can take much more of this

There seems to be a trend of undisclosed faults on ham gear recently. When the pk232 arrived the threshold knob was seized solid. no mention in the advert. I managed to unseize it using Premixslip by Ruhof That stuff is awesome.
Anyway I hope you manage to work it out.

Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs.

I swapped my TS2000X (with 23cm) serial was the last 2 months of production for an FTDX10 and hated it, just wasn't me, this was 2 or 3 months ago, yesterday I saw the guy up in Scotland trying to swap the TS for a FTDX10...... the TS is coming home
