...and a very valuable lesson learnt
I'm not going to try and make excuses i royally f***** up and i know i did, purchased a used 3900 boxed and in good condition with a couple of minor issues and thought how hard can it be and yes the answer is hard .
I wrote down the settings from the engineers menu i had and finding some bits and pieces of info on the www made some adjustments
Anyway having got a constant overvoltage error i left it on the side for a few days so i could calm down, she the wife swears blind she didn't throw away anything from the bench, I'm pretty sure the dog didn't eat it so the pixies or fairies must have taken it
Life's to short to worry about such things so i bought a tatty 6900 to use on 10m for a bit of fun, used the cases and bracket from the 3900 so the rest is going.
I don't think a bricked 3900 is ever going to live again (may be wrong) but if someone wants a load of spares to tidy up something similar then it may do someone a turn, the front has a couple of marks in the chrome the main being under the channel change as per pictures but in general its clean, the meter and knobs are immaculate as is the inlay, the mounting bracket has sticky tape on it
(i lost interest at this point) near mint microphone and power lead, box with inserts.
Let me be perfectly clear this is being sold as scrap
