I took Nick a Fidelity Homebase to have a look at last year. When I went to pick some radios up off him that he'd sorted for me a few dsys later, he was using the Fidelity to stop his car from rolling down his steep drive. Bloody cheek!

I was watching a guy messing about with a fidelity 1000 in his car on youtube. He was receiving morse through approx 8 channels. Probably being broadcast on 7 mhz  And the bassy RX audio would drive me mental

Can you talk on them? - Yes.
Can you reecive on them? - Yes.
Can they be used at home and mobile? - Yes.
Can they be repaired? - Yes.
Were they type approved? - Yes.
Were many sold? - Yes, under different names.

They tick the basic boxes (like an Amstrad does) to me 8)

I was given a lake manxman year's ago but didn't have the free ask trays or the plastic panel or control knobs and it didn't have a speaker either.

Late at night about 2 or 3 in the morning I used to power it up and use it till day break and then it would become totally useless till the next night
