Hi,
Soon to do my foundation exam, got an X-50 to go up and will be using a Kenwood TM-V71E. I originally bought some RG-213 with the brackets & pole etc but after reading around it seems Westflex would be better. Also found Eco 10 and 15 seems to get recommended a lot so I'm now stuck on what I should go with. I want to get it right the first time ! I guess the run is going to be about 15m definitely less than 20m.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks.
Confused on which coax I need ?

RG213 will be adequate for 15m.
But any longer and seriously consider something a lot better.

nothing wrong with RG-213
and unless your made of money and thinking losing a fraction of a db an issue then stick with what you have.

Personally i'd use the rg213 if you already have it... but then i'm tight. The others you mention would get a little more signal to your aerial but will it be worth the extra expense to you?

Acording to this coax loss calculator 15meters of RG213 looses 2.4dB at 430MHz which is fine unless you are trying to bound signals off the moon or pick up a milliwatt transmitter on a microsatellite in which case you use a low noise mast head preamp and the coax loss dosn't matter.
Less than one nominal s-point. The s-meters on VHF-UHF vary considerably in how many dB moves the meter one s-point and where s9 is, some Kenwood's going from s1 to s9 over about -117 to -105dBm so on a quiet channel s1 is a fully readable FM signal and s9 is a slightly stronger signal.
That corresponds to 29watts of your radio's 50watt output making it to the antenna.
Unbranded or Maplin RG-213 might have 1dB or 2dB more loss.

MMM
Not all co-ax's are shown there.
Stick with RG213, nowt wrong with that.
