Any clues as to what this error message means exactly? Never seen this before.

Nice catch. Not sure, but as the error (err 3) gives a directory structure It suggest its either a timeout or path error on the output file that is being used in the transmission. Unix OS maybe, could also be a bespoke hardware error code. One more to add to the weird and wonderful collection

Might be a clue, the directory path is different. Perhaps the sysop had a few beers at the weekend

Yep, when in Germany, its very important to specify the correct path to the outit file. Otherwise, who knows where you'll end up :
