I'm placing it on a pressure sensitive plinth in a room full of freakin' laser beams and all kinds of anti-ninja devices, surrounded by a moat full of killer kippers or something. That's after I send it to Radio Trader Ireland to be valued and appraised...

Typical that the plate on the back that would've had model & serial number isn't there...
Maybe it was a pre-production sample, and a plate was never fitted?
I am with you on this.
It looks like a pre production sample that's escaped into the real world.
Or it was nicked at some point in it's life

The Powerbase 5 looked more like the York homebase from memory. I have a black and white pic of it somewhere on my non-working laptop from a 1981/2 magazine.
It was also rumoured back in the day that Rotel's homebase would be similar to the Harriers but it never happened and I only ever found mention of it once in all the mags. I even emailed Rotel a few years back and they confirmed they only ever did the mobile CB radios.

Wouldn't mind a read of that... but not at that price
Yeah I'm not tempted at that price lol. I see what you mean about it looking more like a York homebase though. In saying that, the Binatone Route 66 on the cover looks nothing like the one that eventually ended up in production.
