okay cheers for the info. if it's a digital signal with any type off encryption then surely it can't easily be cracked or can it ? not sure what the difference in the real world is between basic and enhanced encryption if they both can't be hacked ? any explain in simple terms ?!

Basic encryption can be brute forced at just guessing the keys over a period of time you may get lucky as It's only a 16bit 4 digit hexadecimal key, Still fairly hard to crack & can be done but enhanced encryption Is 128bit with a 32 digit hexadecimal key which Is alot harder to crack than a basic key encryption, so you could be at It years & years & still non na wiser at cracking the unique key combination unless of course you know the other party using enhanced encryption & the willing to share & pass on key details

Okay cheers superb explanation and a bit wiser now even if as first suspected basic encryption is still secure as most would ever want / require ??!!

Got an email from Amazon today advertising a few DMR radios that were due to be reduced on " Black Friday " one mentioned having " Tier 3 " is this something that us tier 1 and 2 owners only owners should be worried about regards our radios being no longer being able to receive certain digital transmissions ?

Hi again gmham,

I wouldn't worry about It as your not using the system lol Tier 3 just fully supports trunking Tier 1 license free usage & Tier 2 supports the conventional users such as those licensed to play on the ham bands or have the privilege of using a conventional operational rptr setup such as a shopping centre or a small based shopwatch scheme.

On another note I'm looking for some help If someone has some Info & can send details, The zastone d900 radio the batteries are totally difo to that of the TYT & the Retivis RT3, Searching about for another battery to purchase for the zastone Is coming up "Nil" does anyone have an idea where I could purchase another battery from many thanks In advance

Regards gmham & all

Further to the above just found them on sale on aliexpress at £15 delivered. Let me know if you have any trouble finding them and will give the link. Aliexpress has been okay for me as long as you are okay to wait up to say five or size weeks for the items to arrive !

Just looking on Amazon, I can't see any D900's for £55, can only see the twin pack for £108.99 which is reasonable though. Have they all gone?
