I'm thinking of getting a hf module at some point for my ft-726r,now there is a fully loaded 726r on eBay with the above module:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT
As the listing states goes up to 29.999 mhz but when i look for information on the hf module i thought they covered 21-28mhz?
Can anybody shed any light on this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Yaesu ft-726 hf module
Never owned the HF module but did own an ft726r with the 2mtr board in it may years ago, its my understanding that the HF board gives 20-15-10 mtrs, but have seen a few over the years stating 28mhz gave you full 26-30 mhz coverage so would imagine there is either a mod to enable this extra coverage or even internal jumpers. but officially nope its only 20-15 and 10mtrs.
the 2mtr board in the ft726r that I owned covered 144-148mhz even thou uk is only allocated 144-146. obviously designed for different markets ie usa etc where use above 146mhz is permitted.

Re: Yaesu ft-726 hf module
I'm guessing here it means covers those bands, i.e. 10, 15 & 20. As we know, 10m is 28.000-29.700. However, a lot of Yaesu models were always covering 500Khz lumps of frequency. I would be surprised if it only covered to 29.700 - earlier Yaesu HF sets covered to 30.000.

Re: Yaesu ft-726 hf module
After many years wanting this module i now have one in my possesion! Does anybody else on here have a ft 726? I've never had the cases off mine and wondering if changing a module is easy? I'm looking forward to installing this module and using the radio as i think they are a brilliant.
I'll pay whatever i think it's worth...:-)

Been years since I owned one of these radios and funnily enough, I had the HF module too. Had a quick look at the user manual. Pretty easy. You just need to ensure you have connected the jumper cable correctly. I'm assuming your module came with the jumper cable assembly?mof000 wrote:After many years wanting this module i now have one in my possesion! Does anybody else on here have a ft 726? Anyway, it's page 28 in the manual. The HF module can be modified to cover 10 + 11m.

You should be ok. I think all three modules use the same cable assembly.mof000 wrote: Thanks for the reply! I'm looking at taking 6M module out and i'm hoping i can use jumper cable from that module?

Of course!mof000 wrote:Excellent! I might have a go at the 11M mod... Only for RX purposes only though...;_)
I think the 12m band is also extended up to 26.500Mhz so you will have 23.5-30.00 to "listen" on!
