President Lincoln unmodified

Post by bigbobarooney »

Just got myself an unmodified President Lincoln in mint i mean mint condition box everything in plastic bags etc. It came from a silent key estate sale. I'd like to have it converted to cover 26 - 30 but i don't know anyone local that does radio modification (I live in shipley west Yorkshire ) could anyone on the forum please recommend a good radio engineer?

It takes longer to remove the screws than it does to do the job.
I'm in Oldham if it helps.

Do you have a soldering iron and a steady hand, it is a very quick mod, all the information can be found with a good old google search, plus other worth while mods and tweaks, but if you need any help this is the place. I am between Barnsley and Rotherham if you need any assistance, Karl.
Whoever suggested repair by replacement, should be repaired by replacement!!!

With a radio in such nice condition as you describe i would opt to contact a retailer that takes on repairs etc and can do a first class job, Knights would be my first stop and inquire, as its to good a radio to bodge up, or even risk a poor attempt at it, just IMHO for a radio in this condition its worth the few quid spending on it. :)

Similar threads have appeared before. Not necessarily relating to Lincolns, but Sammy's hardly used Ranger 2950dx springs to mind.

To quote Forrest Gump, "Buying CB radio's off eBay is like a opening a box of chocolates. You just don't know what you're going to get until you take the lid off". Or something like that.
